email host hotmail not accept

hi
this is a short answer for some one.
i want to host my own email account every thing works i can send to gmail est but when i send a email to hotmail it does not accept it because i have a dynamic ip adress. is there anything i can do about this?

and if not

has any experience at getting a static ip of virgin media?

Virgin DON'T give out static IP addresses on Cable broadband packages... I bugged them personally for weeks

Your best bet is to use virgin's SMTP server like i do As your on their network you are already authenticated to use it...

In hmailserver administrator go to settings - Protocols - SMTP
Then in the SMTP section go to Delivery of e-mail tab
SMTP relayer section
remote host name : smtp.virgin.net
remote TCP/IP port : 25
leave the boxies unticked

See if that works for you

I myself also use an SMTP relay on my personal home broadband too...

The above solution from Caffeine Addict is by far the cheapest, easiest and most reliant.... Another option you have is to purchase an SMTP relay service (where you relay through a third-party SMTP relay service but to be honest, there is not point )

I think dyndns has a good one if you want to go down that route... but i would suggest going with the first solution ... as ballen said much cheaper
